Commerce City, Colorado: door-to-door solicitor permit

• The answer: No rep permit. The city's Business Licenses page says the city does not issue licenses for peddlers (selling door-to-door). The company itself still needs a general business license — the code says no one may engage in business of any type in the city without one (9-2000), and the city page says that applies even to a service-only business.
• Where it comes from: The Business Licenses page lists the City Clerk's Office as its contact. A business located in the city applies through the eTRAKiT portal; a business located outside city limits applies for a sales and use tax account through MUNIRevs.
• Fee: No per-rep fee — there is no door-to-door license. The general business license fee is set by city council resolution (9-1004(b)) and is not posted on the Business Licenses page. The page says general business licenses do not need to be renewed annually.
• Hours you may knock: The code sets no door-to-door hours. Chapter 9 has no solicitor article, and the only solicitation section in Chapter 12 is the posted-sign rule (12-5005), which names no hours.
• What the rep carries: Nothing is required by the code — there is no rep permit or badge.
• What takes the time: Only the company's general business license application. The code says no application is considered until it is complete in every detail and all fees are paid (9-1004(a), (c)). No processing time is published.
