Free Daily Door Log for Door-to-Door Reps (Excel & Google Sheets)

A free spreadsheet for one rep. Each evening you type the date, the area, doors, conversations and sales, and it works out your conversation rate, close rate and sales per 100 doors, day by day and for the month. No email, no form. Download it and start tonight.

One tab · 31 days plus one EXAMPLE row · Standard .xlsx, no macros

What’s in it

  • Five columns you fill in, the yellow cells: date, area / street, doors, conversations, sales.
  • Three columns that fill themselves in: the three rates below.
  • A totals row: doors, conversations, sales, days worked, doors per day, sales per day, and the three rates across everything you logged.
  • One EXAMPLE row at the top. Every total leaves it out, so type over it or leave it.
  • Two streets in one day? Log a row for each. The day still counts once.

The three rates, written out

  • Conversation rate = conversations ÷ doors. Is the opening working?
  • Close rate = sales ÷ conversations. Is the conversation working?
  • Sales per 100 doors = sales ÷ doors × 100. The two together, in one number.

Say you knock 120 doors, get 26 conversations and make 3 sales. That’s 26 ÷ 120 = 21.7 conversations per 100 doors, 3 ÷ 26 = 11.5 sales per 100 conversations, and 3 ÷ 120 × 100 = 2.5 sales per 100 doors. That is arithmetic on made-up numbers, not a benchmark. Inside the spreadsheet the first two rates show as percentages; here they’re written per 100.

The reason to keep them apart: a low conversation rate and a low close rate look the same on a sales total, and they need opposite fixes.

Opening it

It’s a standard .xlsx with no macros, made for Excel and Google Sheets. Its formulas use six ordinary functions: IF, OR, LEFT, IFERROR, SUMIFS and COUNTIFS. On a day with no doors or no conversations, the rate that would divide by zero stays blank instead of showing an error. It prints landscape, one page wide, with the header row repeated on the second page. Before release it was recalculated in LibreOffice with three made-up days typed in, and every figure was checked by hand.

Running a team?

This log is for one person. The Route & Team Tracker ($17) takes the same three numbers for a whole team: every rep in one Route Log, a Weekly Dashboard whose “What this says” column names each rep’s likely problem, a Last 8 Weeks trend, a Turnover Tracker with 30/60/90 survival, a Comp Calculator, and a Territory tab for re-knock timing. The rates use the same formulas, so nothing changes when you move over.

Planning the day before you log it? The free Doorstep Route Planner covers what to confirm before you leave and what to write down at each door.
