• The answer: Yes — a solicitor business tax receipt, plus a "permitted solicitor" badge issued with it (12-147, 12-152). A solicitor includes anyone going house to house soliciting orders for goods or for services to be furnished or performed, for present or future delivery (12-146). Each applicant files his own sworn application with photo, and each gets his own badge, so it is per rep (12-148, 12-152). • Where it comes from: The supervisor of local business tax receipts takes the application, investigates, and issues the receipt and badge (12-148, 12-149, 12-152).
• Fee: Fifty dollars ($50.00) per month or two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) per year (12-150). Every applicant also files a surety bond of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) running to the city (12-151).
