• The answer: Yes — a Peddler/Solicitor Regulatory License under YMC Chapter 5.56. The city's Licenses page lists it for door-to-door sales, and the application is filled out by the individual applicant (name, home address, driver's license, convictions), so plan on one per rep. This is on top of the city business license every business working in city limits needs.
• Where it comes from: The Code Administration Division of the Community Development Department, 129 North Second Street, 2nd Floor, per the application form.
• Fee: $25.00 license fee plus $11.00 criminal background check, charged annually, per the city's application form (revised 05/2026). The form also asks for a bond in the amount of $15,000 from solicitors who take cash deposits, C.O.D. orders, or sign finance contracts for future delivery or future services, citing YMC 5.56.030.

• What the rep carries: Not read from the code. The application asks for written credentials establishing authority to peddle or solicit for the business and a color copy of the driver's license or ID.
